Tick Tock -

Filed under: Uncategorized — James @ 3:52 am

Just an FYI… I do check my mail, but it seems no one gets my replies. I think it has something to do with using an e-mail address from one domain to reply to a message sent by a form. Furthermore, I’m sending that reply via a completely unrelated mail server. Yeah, that would be a problem. Check your junk folders. I’ll see if I can do something about the problem. Does a discussion forum sound like a good idea?

No news is… -

I realize that it has been quite a while since my last real post. I might need to do something about that.

It’s alive… or something? -

Filed under: Uncategorized — James @ 5:11 am

I’d say something along the lines of welcome to 2010… Unfortunately, I think I missed that boat by a couple of weeks. In any event, here’s an updated calendar to keep you company: 2010 Calendar. With any luck, I might have a few more updates soon. Until then… Yeah.

Another year, another…? -

Filed under: Uncategorized — James @ 1:58 am

It’s a new year and, with any luck, it will be a good one. Don’t worry, I’ll keep my fingers crossed. I’d like to try to make some changes to the site, but I’m not really sure where to begin. There are lots of areas that could use a little dusting. That said, if you would like to see me update any specific content, feel free to ask via the contact form linked throughout this site. Otherwise, any updates will happen (or not) if I find myself sufficiently motivated and otherwise unoccupied. (Maybe you should keep your fingers crossed too?)

; )

Well, to kick off the new year, I usually make myself a new calendar. I’ve been uploading these to the site for the past few, but generally haven’t given out links. If you’re looking for a really low budget calendar, have at it… 2009 Calendar. Oh yeah, have a happy new year.

I’m back… -

Filed under: Uncategorized — James @ 4:48 pm

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything so I thought I would take this opportunity to apologize. I’m sorry? Well, I had a lightning strike take out both of my desktops. That’s a pretty good reason, eh? In any event, expect some new content in the next few weeks.

While I pine for meaning… -

Filed under: Uncategorized — James @ 1:51 am

I’m working on getting things set up so that I’ll have some permanent space to do crafty stuff. No more wood carving on a folding table in the basement which means no more sawdust all over the furniture, TV, etc… Fun, fun, fun.

So… I know I’ve mentioned this to a few people, but here it is again: I’m taking requests for sculptures. When I get everything set up, I fully intend to carve something out of wood for everyone that asks (maybe not so much for complete strangers). No guarantees on the quality, yet my first few attempts have turned out nicely. If you want something for yourself or for someone else, just give me some details.

Contact Form -

Filed under: Uncategorized — James @ 3:32 am

The contact form was trashing all submissions… Looks like the junk filter was a little too restrictive. I’ve made some changes and you should be able to send me mail again. Thanks to Gerardo C for pointing it out.

I updated the site… lots of changes.

Oh… Oh, whatever. -

Filed under: Uncategorized — James @ 5:19 pm

Let’s see… what’s new in my world? Where to begin? Oh, here’s a good spot. I went to see the 300 on Friday. I think the best way I can describe it is just to say that it was awesomely violent. Who doesn’t enjoy a good slow motion, CG, flying, spinning, severed head? Other than that, I’ve been working on some long overdue projects and building things. I guess I’ve been doing a lot of that this year.

Building aside, sooner or later, I’ll get around to updating my site. It’s been stagnant since December and I really like to get in at least one update a month. The main reason that I’ve been putting off any new content is that I’m working on a bit of an overhaul. I want to move things around… It’s just a general reorganizing of content to make my life easier and make things easier to find. Who knows when I’ll get it finished? Hopefully, I’ll have it ready before the end of the month. I haven’t really been motivated, so it’s taking forever.

Recently, I’ve been working on a little electronic device. I’ve always been interested in electronics, but I hadn’t gone much past soldering wires. This is just a simple timer that pushes a button… think time-lapse photos. I’m making one for myself and one for a friend. Crazy, eh? I think everything works, I just need to put a housing together and mount everything. I’m not entirely sure how this will attach to the camera, but I have some ideas. Maybe I’ll work on that today.

In completely unrelated news, I think I’ve made a new friend or two. That’s totally out of the ordinary if you were wondering. I might actually meet one of them to exchange some art. Exciting, yes, no? Oh yeah, believe it or not, I haven’t done anything even remotely social in months. Since Lauryn moved in January, I really haven’t hung out with anyone. It’s something I’m trying to work on, but I generally don’t have much luck with. So… Yeah. Wish me luck.

Closet Tetris -

Filed under: Uncategorized — James @ 1:07 am

I’ve been shuffling boxes… it’s something of a hobby. I don’t know where anything is, but I know where everything is. It’s just this hole, like my life, that I fill with the random pieces and things I’ve collected. That’s where it all goes. So, I’m listening to “Spilt Needles” by The Shins. I keep listening to it… over and over. I don’t know why everything’s so weird. It’s just how it is. I have a headache that isn’t a headache. Maybe it’s heart ache without the heart. The big question is… what happens when the closet’s full?
