AntiPoetics - Poetry - Novel Acquaintance

Novel Acquaintance

Dusty old friend
Your days are numbered
Long have you been my companion
Sleepless nights with your witty remarks
And how you made me think

You showed me there was more to life
Not just endless drudgery
My love for you will never die
But now your spine is broken
And your words are not there

Yet you will not die
You are unbound by human defect
The kind of which you are does not perish
Immortality you possess
And one day when the time is right
We will meet again
